About the Role:
Our private practice is seeking a Massachusetts-licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide essential speech and language therapy services to adults with developmental disabilities in a day habilitation program. This is a part-time position, beginning in July 2025.
Position Highlights:
Role: Provide direct speech and language therapy services to adults with communication disorders under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist.
Key Responsibilities:
*Direct Therapy: Assist the speech-language pathologist in delivering speech and language therapy tailored to improve life skills for adults with developmental disabilities.
*Staff Training: Support staff training and education on communication strategies.
*Material Development: Fabricate and adapt materials for low-technology communication systems.
*Technical Assistance: Preferred experience with speech-generating augmentative communication systems.
* Support and Supervision:
*Ongoing Supervision: Receive regular training, program development support, materials, and supervision from a licensed speech-language pathologist multiple times per month.
* Team Environment: Work collaboratively with a supportive team dedicated to enhancing communication and independence for adults with developmental disabilities.

📋 Qualifications:
Required:
- Current Massachusetts SLPA license
Preferred:
- Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- An understanding of the value of social communication for adults with developmental disabilities, training skills, experience with assistive augmentative communication systems, and cognitive processing abilities is highly valued.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate communication skills and language disorders with clarity and accuracy is a plus.
